The New Girl is a Season 5 episode of Caillou.
Plot[]
Caillou is excited because he is going on a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum and him and Leo were going to be partners then at school. The kids are playing and Caillou and Leo say this is gonna be the best field trip ever. Then Mrs. Martin shows up with a new girl the new girl's name was Layla and she had no friends Miss Martin asks Caillou to be her partner and Caillou was disappointed because he wanted to be with Leo then the class line up and get on the bus. Layla was sitting by the window and that was Caillou's favorite spot Caillou was sad then at the museum Caillou watches Leo and Clementine having fun and Caillou and Layla see dinosaurs. Caillou was surprised that Layla knows all the dinosaurs on the way home she lets Caillou sit by the window and they had the best time ever.

- This is the first (and only) appearance of Layla.
- This is the second appearance of the dinosaur museum; the first time was in the season 4 episode "Caillou the Dinosaur Hunter."
- A reference to Caillou at Daycare is made (when Caillou knows how to relate to Layla being a new kid/knowing none of the kids)
- However, a goof is made- Caillou says that when he was new, Leo offered to be his friend. However, Leo was a bully at first. Clementine was the first one to befriend Caillou when he was new

- Miss Martin asks Caillou to be Layla's partner for the field trip, even though he is partnered with Leo. Later, Leo is seen being Clementine's partner-which would imply she didn't have one before. Why Miss Martin didn't ask Clementine to be Layla's partner isn't known
